Lisa has always shown a keen interest in developing the global dimension in local, national and internationals schools since the early stages of her career. Her aim is to connect classrooms all over the world to further develop a mutual understanding and respect, exposing the diversity not just of ethnicity, culture and experience, but of perspectives on local, national and global events. Lisa has been the International Coordinator for the last 7 years. During this time she has established links with schools in Russia, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Oman, Lebanon, Abu Dhabi, Bulgaria, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Poland, Finland, Holland, Libya and Ghana. Though her work she has achieved the International School Award and Cultural Diversity Quality Standard Gold Award.

In addition to this role, Lisa juggles the demands of her role as Deputy Head Teacher responsible for Teaching and Learning, the Designated Senior Person responsible for Safeguarding Children and being a mother. She has two daughters (Alexandra 21 and Harriet 18) both of whom are following in her footsteps and training to become teachers. Both Harriet and Alexandra are working closely with the Lisa Darwood International Community School and have undertaken voluntary work at the school in January 2014 and are due to be the honorary guests in July 2014 for the official opening of the Lisa Darwood Community International School. Lisa believes strongly in bringing communities together through connecting classrooms projects. Ghana has always held a special place in her heart and she thanks Matt Richards for inviting her to join the Ghanaian Cluster.

Darko David Boateng is the Proprietor of Lisa Darwood International community School which was established in New-Powmu Akosombo of the Asuogyaman District to take care of the orphans,privilege and needy children in the entire Akosombo Community. He was born 22nd July, 1965 at a small town called Pese near Akosombo. Basically Darko David Boateng’s interest in children education and welfare has propel him to be trained as a teacher and subsequently graduated from the University of Education Winneba in Ghana. Darko David Boateng has over 26 years’ experiences in Basic Education in Ghana. He has worked in Several Educational Institutions which includes Learning Field International School, Somanya Preby Junior High School as an Information Communication Technology and Social Studies Teacher.

This interest made him to establish the Lisa Darwood Community School in the Akosombo catchment area to cater for the deprived, destitute ,privilage and the under privilege children.

Currently the school has a total pupil enrolment of over 200 and 13 teachers. The school is run primarily by fees from some of the parents and donations from good wishes and philanthropist.

The Lisa Darwood Community Int. School has a temporal structure which the pupils and teachers. The also has a minibus which conveys pupils and teachers from their communities to the school premises.

Darko David Boateng contribution to education in the Asuogyaman District cannot under be estimated! Currently, he is the international Coordinator for British Council Connection Classroom project in the Akosombo Area. Through this project a lot of teachers have benefited in exchange programme to the United Kingdom and other part of the world. Most teachers have had the opportunity to learn from other systems of Education and applied thereby and improved upon their work in Ghana.

He also receives many foreign teachers and tourist to Ghana every year. He is also the C. E. O of International Youth Support Program organizing the Youth for educational Programme, Placement of Youth in the Universities and colleges, sending students to abroad for Educational tours receiving volunteers for placement in Educational Institutions, Heath Institution and co.
